Fall River took the lead in the American League race last Sunday, when they tied Brooklyn at Fall River. Score, one goal each. However, they will probably find their leadership to be of short duration, as they have played two more games than Bethlehem and Pawtucket and the two latter teams are only one goal behind. Bethlehem should go to the top next Saturday, when they meet Philadelphia at the Steel Field, provided they play the same class of football that they displayed against New York two weeks ago. The real battle for the league leadership will take place on Saturday, March 24th, at the Steel Field, when J & P Coats team, of Pawtucket, comes here for a league game. Both teams have the same number of points and have played an equal number of games. Coats held Bethlehem to a tie on their first visit here and they are traveling at a great pace at present. They have reached the eastern final of the National Cup and will meet the winners of the New York vs. Paterson game in deciding the Easter Section of the National classic. The winner of the Eastern final will meet the Scullins, of St. Louis, in the final.

Bethlehem will make a great effort to land the league pennant and they are determined to collect two points at the expense of the Phillies on Saturday. It is now almost certain that the Steel lineup will be the same as defeated New York, and if they play as they did that day, local fans will see a team, at least the equal of any that ever represented Bethlehem.
